Hugo Minnaar is a Clinical Technologist that specialized in Critical Care (Critical Care Technologist), He's got an special interest in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Transportation, ECMO, Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and vascular access. Hugo has recently acquired an interest in integrative medicine (Combining western medicine with alternative healing methods)

He also have a keen interest in diagnostic procedures and diagnostic services that includes the functioning of the heart and lungs.
He is a BLS Instructor & Faculty, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support for Experienced Providers (ACLS-EP), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and Tactical Medicine (TACMED) instructor for more or less the last 15 years,
He also presents CPD activities on various Critical Care & Emergency Medicine topics. He started working in the academic environment (Steve Biko Academic Hospital) training student Critical Care Technologists, Nurses and Doctors in the various Intensive Care Units, Theatre (Anaesthetic Assistance), High Care, Pulmonology Unit & Emergency Department.

Other than his in-hospital experience he has 20 years experience in the pre-hospital emergency medical care field on both primary response, Ambulance and air response services in both government and private emergency medical services.
He has business experience in the Healthcare Environment and was a Director at various medical service and ambulance companies, he was the founding member of LifeMed Ambulance Service (currently still operating) and also the founding member of International Medical Services.
